Added to the diet as a means of lowering elevated levels of triglycerides, apoB, non-HDL-C, total cholesterol, and HDL-C in patients with readily treatable mixed dyslipidemia (Fredrickson types Ia and IIb) and primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous with/without familial).
