Description
Severe or serious infections brought on by susceptible methicillin-resistant (beta-lactam-resistant) staphylococci strains in patients who are allergic to pencillin. For infections caused by organisms susceptible to vancomycin, when methicillin-resistant staphylococci are suspected, for the first course of treatment. Infections caused by staphylococci, such as septicemia, bone infections, lower respiratory tract infections, and infections of the skin and skin structure, are treated with staphylococcal endocarditis.
