Description
Monotherapy: When metformin, diet, and exercise are insufficient to control type 2 diabetes, this medication is used to treat the condition, which is characterized by elevated glucose levels. Dual therapy is used to treat type 2 diabetes in patients who do not respond well to diet, exercise, and either metformin or glitazine. It can also be used in conjunction with sulphonylureas in patients who should not be taking metformin and in patients who do not respond well to sulphonylureas alone. Triple therapy: This medication is used to treat diabetes 2 that is not well controlled with dual therapy in addition to metformin and glitazone or sulphonylureas. With insulin: This medication is used to treat type 2 diabetes in patients who do not respond well to diet, exercise, and insulin. It can be used in conjunction with metformin.
