Description

Febuxostat is only available as an oral tablet. Adults with gout who have hyperuricemia—constantly elevated uric acid levels—can be treated with the oral medication fruxostat. It is used for patients who cannot take allopurinol or for whom allopurinol was insufficiently effective after a trial.
