This medication is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, a condition marked by elevated blood sugar levels, along with a healthy diet and exercise regimen. To increase effectiveness and achieve the intended effects, it is frequently combined with other medications. The most common way to take empagliflozin is orally. It is not indicated for diabetes type 1.
