Description

Combining metformin, a biguanide, with empagliflozin, an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2), is recommended as a supplement to diet and exercise in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus whose blood sugar levels are not sufficiently controlled when using either medication alone.
